7 Days Eastern Uganda Safari takes you to some of the attractions found in Eastern Uganda such as the source of the River Nile, Itanda falls, Mabira forest, Ssezibwa falls, Sipi falls and Mt Elgon with the largest calderas in the world.
Entebbe or Kampala
After breakfast, you will drive to Eastern Uganda towards Jinja. Stopover at Ssezibwa falls and a short forest walk in Mabira forest to spot some primates and a variety of bird species. Then drive to Jinja, check in your lodge for dinner and overnight at Nile village Hotel. (B.B)
After breakfast, head for a half day white water rafting on the River Nile. There are other optional activities along the River Nile in Jinja such as bungee jumping, quad biking among others. Then visit the source of the River Nile, take a boat ride to some fishing villages in Lake Victoria. Then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Nile village Hotel. (B.B)
After breakfast drive to Mbale to visit the beautiful Sipi falls composed of; 3 breathtaking waterfalls near Mt Elgon as well as visit the coffee plantations in the area. Then check in your lodge for dinner and overnight at Sipi River lodge. (B.L.D)
After breakfast, you will drive to the start of the trail at Budadiri for a briefing after which you will rally behind the ranger to hike the Mt Elgon. You will ascend to Mude cave (1770m-3500m). Then spend a night at Mude cave camp. (B.L.D)
After breakfast at the camp, you will ascend to Waggagai which stands at 4321m and then descend back to Mude cave at 3500m. You can either climb to Jackson’s peak (4165m) and spend more time in the caldera or head back and relax at Mude camp. Then return to Mude camp for dinner and overnight. (B.L.D)
Descend to Budadiri where the driver will pick you and drive you back to the lodge for a hot shower and a hot meal as well as a deserved drink. Dinner and overnight at Sipi River Lodge. (B.L.D)
Finally, after breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive back to Kampala with lunch en route. Go on a shopping spree at the craft market on Buganda road. Then drive to Entebbe in time to catch your flight back home.
